Selecting a Crematory

For families who choose cremation, selecting a crematory is just as important as selecting a funeral home. In many cases, though, families don’t take an active role in choosing a crematory; they allow the funeral home to make that decision for them. In reality, as a consumer, it’s your right and responsibility to actively select where and how the actual cremation of your loved one is performed. You are in charge. In that respect, it is not unlike any other purchase, whereas you choose the level of service you value.

It is important to know how to choose a crematory because most funeral homes in York County do not own their own crematory.  If they do not own their own crematory, then they are choosing the crematory for you.

One of the most important and irreversible decisions you will be making is where and how the cremation will take place.  Below are the things that set us apart from the funeral homes that do not own their own crematory and make us the experts in cremation.

At Beck Funeral Home we own our own crematory. It is dedicated to serving our families by providing the highest quality cremation service. As a leader in our industry, our policies and procedures are designed to give complete peace of mind to families who choose cremation. And whether it’s for peace of mind, or in order to help achieve a better sense of closure, many people not only want to see where the cremation will take place, but also take part in some form of final tribute or ceremony at the crematory.

At Beck Funeral Home we offer a chapel for families wishing to have an identification viewing or a committal service prior to cremation, or for those who wish to be present when the cremation begins or even during the entire cremation process. You are welcome and encouraged to inspect our operation at any time, and educate yourself as to what we do here, so you can compare us to other crematories and appreciate the differences. Our ultimate goal is to help you achieve a secure feeling of satisfaction and validation regarding your selection of cremation. Please call us about visiting our facility.
